When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary to realize there is absolutely zero news about our World of Warcraft. That is this week.

David and I hunted high and we hunted low this week to find news, interesting blog posts, opinions, or even something that really bit us. There just wasn't a thing. After a little chat this morning, David and I decided it was best to record our short non-episode (which should show up immediately following this post) than to run 60 minutes of nothing. That totally works for some folks, but I'm really hungry and I want to go watch Fringe from this past week;( David's note - I watched it last night and it was good! ) you can understand why we decided to take the week off.

We'll be back next weekend with a killer episode 18, and maybe a little surprise or two. Enjoy Pirates Day and Brewfest - don't let the dark iron dwarves grind you down. Have a fantastic week.

cheers,
Steve

Well, true believers, we recorded episode 12 on Saturday August 9th. Once the recording was finished, I placed the file into my trusty editor and found that every time my mic was open there was a horrible low end hum that over time became truly painful to the listener. No amount of filtering would make it go away or even bearable over the course of an hour long show.

Now, I know there are podcasts that will apologized for their sound quality, release the episode and fix it for next week, but Steve and I believe that quality matters. I know what the problem was and I have purchased the necessary replacement equipment today. I have done a test recording with the new equipment and the hum is gone.

I apologize to our listeners for the delay, but I believe, and Steve agrees, that anything worth doing is worth doing right, and you, our loyal fans, deserve nothing less.

  1. First, always start with a fresh three stacks of defend. This I knew but what I didnt know is that defend is on a timer. So if its not refreshed properly you can lose all three stacks at once, no matter what your opponent is doing. So whenever the CD is up on it, refresh it. ALWAYS start the match from behind your opponent. As your opponent walks away from you, spam charge until it goes off. After your charge, start spamming melee ( #1 ) until your opponent breaks off and tries to get distance on you. STAY WHERE YOU ARE and spam charge until you get it. The second they are at distance, you will charge and they will not.
  2. NEVER try to get distance from your opponent, ALWAYS let them be the one to move away.
  3. After a charge, ALWAYS turn your self so you moving back into the center of the ring ( this keeps your opponent from running outside of the ring and bugging )
  4. Also, during that turn if you can get off a single shield breaker, give it a shot.
  5. Rinse repeat

I had a brief discussion with a friend (and legal advisor) recently, and after that discussion I feel I should make a short statement.

I often (and always in jest) refer to the backers of the uber-guild Ensidia as terrorists. I would hope everyone is aware that it's just that - a joke. A parody. It's highly doubtful this has any basis in fact, and, of course, I don't have any evidence to make the statement.

We at Inside Azeroth pride ourselves on not pulling punches, but I believe this is one I should probably pull. I apologize to the guild and their financial supporters for that statement. Humanity in every corner of the world is threatened by, if not direct victims of, terrorists driven by politics, religion, hatred, or they're just plain not right in the head. While being able to laugh at them helps us as human beings cope with this threat, it doesn't lessen the gravity of pointing a finger at a small group of people and calling them terrorists without any real evidence to prove this.

It doesn't mean my ire for this guild has lessened. I still resent the fact that they complain about changes to the game that would effect those of us who can't devote 60+ hours a week to the game and make endgame content a little more accessible. It pisses me off that they scorn the rest of us who don't play at their level. And it still really chaps my hide that they do this in a completely arrogant and elitist fashion, with no apparent regard for "the rest of us". I will continue to sound off against them when they pipe up on these topics, but you won't hear another terrorist joke from me.

Please feel free to contact us at insideazeroth@gmail.com if you have a comment on the issue.
